Selecting a donor from a series of photos and written essays was one of the strangest, most “Orwellian” things I’ve ever done. While moving forward with our plans for a family was certainly exciting, it was a bittersweet time as well, knowing that our baby would not share my genes. And we felt vulnerable, too, not having met the donor, and wanting to make the best choice with so much at stake, both emotionally and financially. Gail was a warm and comforting person to work with during this process. She was not intrusive, but gladly became engaged when we had questions. We are absolutely thrilled to have worked with the donor we chose, and are thrilled as well with our twin sons.
